THE ACCIDENT

On the night of August 31, 1997, Princess Diana was with Dodi Fayed, son of Egyptian billionaire Muhammed El Fayed and Diana's lover at the time, in Paris, France. She, Dodi, their bodyguard, and their driver were speeding at over one hundred miles per hour to escape the paparazzi. As the car turned into Alma Tunnel there was a deafening crash. Everything was chaotic. The paparazzi were snapping pictures, and ambulances and police  cars swarmed. Dodi and the driver were killed instantly as a result of drunk driving and the bodyguard was wearing a seatbelt, so he was only badly injured.  Diana alive, but was severely injured and bleeding internally. She was rushed to the hospital, but had already gone into cardiac arrest. Doctors  did everything they could to save her, Diana died at about 4:00 that morning.
